what will you do
- Manager 1 is responsible for entering and exiting trucks, managing the inflow and outflow of trucks, reviewing the yard, updating time-critical documents, preparing reports and communicating with different teams.
- Physically inspect all trailers entering and leaving the yard and record the trailer.
- The log contains trailer number, seal number, trailer status (full or empty), tractor number, load number, date and time.
- Check all incoming and outgoing trailers using the log. Receiving and/or sending loads to warehouse, transport and yard management systems. Perform daily yard inspection and coordinate yard inspection with yard inventory.
- Plan and communicate trailers to yard shifters, dock managers and transportation planners. Direct drivers to appropriate locations in the yard to drop off and pick up trailers.
- Ensure all required paperwork, documents and records are completed. Maintain a clean, safe work environment and smooth flow into the building.
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in service and/or warehousing and delivery. Ability to work all shifts and overtime as needed.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other organizational/planning tools
- Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent communication skills and clear communication skills in English (oral and written).
- Proficiency in using a computer keyboard, computer monitor, telephone headset and telephone system.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role. Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours.
- Ability to perform all of the above tasks with or without accommodation.
